We left Myrtle Beach at 7:30 a.m. and arrived at the Daytona Beach RV resort at 5:00 p.m. The weather on arrival in Daytona was +24 Celsius. A bit warm for a long sleeved sweater! The drive down was almost uneventful for the I-95, one of the busiest truck roads. We were behind a tractor trailer keeping a safe distance at the legal speed limit of 70 mph. Suddenly we saw small pieces of rubber flying behind the tractor trailer. We backed off a bit and then the bigger pieces started to fly! We were lucky not to be hit by the flying rubber! The tractor trailer finally pulled off the road and we had clear sailing to Daytona.
The RV resort appears to be nice, we have not yet had the chance to explore our new surroundings. The major difference here compared to campsites we normally travel to in Canada is the size of the lots. I think the expression people use is suburbia camping. Everyone is packed into their lots and there are not much room left once your site is set up! Oh well, at least the weather is nice.
